—-Explanation Weather Code—

Since rowing is an outdoor sport and therefore depending on the weather, situations can arise where the safety and fairness of the competition are to be judged. To judge these situations, there is a fairnesscommisse present on the competition. This consists of experienced coaches, rowers and competition organizers of various associations and this monitors the weather conditions and honesty on the track during the Damen Raceroei Regatta.

To ensure that on the Raceroei Regatta the communication on the weather and its influence is as smooth as possible, we also make use of a system with weather codes again this year. The current weather code is communicated via the website, Time-Team and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

It will also be communicated at fixed intervals this year on possible measures. This can also be found in the Fairnessprotocol. The latest version is not yet available. Here you will find the latest version.

The weather codes are as follows:

Code GREEN
The weather does not give rise to changing the competition situation or the timetable.
Code YELLOW
Be alert! Weather conditions are predicted where there is a great chance that things will change in the race situation or the timetable. Think of:

  • Shifting the race tracks
  • Sailing Time-trials
  • Delaying races
  • Deleting races

The organization will communicate any changes through all possible channels. So make sure you keep an eye on it. The communication channels are in principle the website (damenraceroeiregatta.nl under the heading ‘ Weather Situation ‘) and the secretariat at the finish tower. Furthermore, we will make sure that the commentary will communicate and explain every change.

Code RED
The weather conditions currently provide an inadmissible safety risk. Until further notice, all races are cancelled.
